Programming

Reading a Book

The library offers various programs for children.

Story Time for Twos

This Story Time is planned with 2 year olds and young 3 year olds in mind. These children can share with their attending adult a variety of crafts, stories, songs, snacks and other fun activities. These are half hour classes each week during the school year. Remember that these children must be accompanied by an adult.  These are typically held Thursday mornings from 10:00 – 10:30 on the lower level of the library. Contact the library for starting dates and more information.

Story Time for 3-5 year olds

Those children ages 3 through 5 (who are not in kindergarten) are invited to sign up for our Story Time classes.

Classes teach creative expression, social skills, listening comprehension, and the foundations of reading through number and letter recognition and vocabulary building.  This is accomplished through the use of stories, crafts, plays and songs, snacks and offering children a chance to make new friends. These are typically held Thursday mornings starting at 10 am in the children’s activity room on the lower level of the library.  Contact the library for starting dates and more information.

After School Programs

Throughout the year, special activities are planned after school for children in Grades K-5. Programs are often based on holiday themes or particular crafts.

Summer Reading Programs

During the summer months, the library conducts a Summer Reading Program for children ages 3 - 13. The program begins in June and typically runs for 6 weeks.
